Flood Warning Number: 2
Up to 85 millimetres of rain has fallen during the past 40 hours to 8 am this morning [10/01/2011]. The Bellinger River at Thora is currently 3.1 metres with minor flooding.
Further heavy rain is forecast for the next 24 hours which could produce further rises.
At this stage it is not possible to predict the flood peak because of uncertainty over how much more rain will fall.
Predicted River Heights/Flows:
Thora – reach 4.0 metres around 1:00 pm this afternoon [10/01/2011] with
Bellingen – exceed minor flood level (3.7 metres) at 10:30 this morning
– reach 4.5 metres at 2 pm this afternoon, with minor flooding.
Urunga – Remain below minor flood level (at this stage).
